In a relatively surprising move, the Los Angeles Rams are releasing cornerback Kayvon Webster. The news comes from Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Webster signed a two-year deal with the Rams last offseason, but a variety of injuries limited him to just 11 games. His season ended when he ruptured his Achilles in December.
After adding Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib and Sam Shields, as well as re-signing Nickell Robey-Coleman, the Rams clearly saw Webster as expendable. They’ll save $3.5 million against the cap by releasing him.
